3.2 X 8mm Pop Rivet Aluminum Blind Rivets , Closed End Dome Head Blind Rivet 2.4 - 6.4mm
Closed end blind rivets are a type of tubular rivet with a mandrel through the center. To install a closed end rivet, the entire fastener is inserted through drilled holes in the parts being joined, and a special tool is used to draw the mandrel into the rivet. The blind end of the rivet expands to secure the workpieces, and the mandrel snaps off. Unlike open end blind rivets, closed end blind rivets provide 100% mandrel retention. The head of the mandrel stays inside the set rivet, and won’t find its way into your assembly where it could cause electrical shorts or other problems. Closed end rivets block the passage of fluids and gases to create a tight, secure seal. crever factory maintains a huge inventory of closed end tubular rivets, with dome head and countersunk head styles available. Our selection includes closed end rivets in a variety of sizes, materials, and lengths, making it easy to find the right option for your needs. We also offer open end blind rivets. 4. Applications/How to Use:
The rivet assembly is inserted into a hole drilled through the parts to be joined and a specially designed tool is used to draw the mandrel into the rivet.
This expands the blind end of the rivet and then the mandrel snaps off.
These types of blind rivets have non-locking mandrels and are sometimes avoided for critical structural joints because the mandrels may fall out, due to vibration or other reasons, leaving a hollow rivet that has a lower load-carrying capability than solid rivets.
The blind rivets are mainly used when access to the joint is only available from one side.
